Joe was also too drunk to feel any pain so was wondering what the hell was going on when his eye started to swell up and he couldn't see through it. Fuck, that part freaked him out a little.
Joe, I have no idea if you were naked. I wasn’t up there with you guys. I mean, you were having sex, so I’m guessing at least that part was naked? I think that’s how that has to work?
Face wounds bleed a lot. but at least, they almost always look way worse than they really are.
"You weren't there? Well, I suppose you wouldn't be since me and Peachy were fucking. Maybe we were? I was too trashed to notice. My eye still fucking stings like a bitch though."
The bassist touching his eye where the white stitches were now holding the wound sealed shut. It stang and Joe wondered where Minoru was when all this went down.
“I’d hope YOU were there when it happened.” Minoru chuckled. “Or that’s one crazy story. I was up in the suite with Mick and Ziggy for a while. Then left to pick up some donuts for the crew bus and get a good freerun in.”
"Of course I was there, babe! I was the one behind Aarne doing the---the thing!"
The bassist was still pretty trashed and couldn't help but giggle a little before wincing as he held his eye a little. Fuck, it still hurt! How long would it take to heal? Surely parkour boy would know.
"Do you know how long I'll be like this? One-Eyed Joe? Ooh, you were up in the suite with Mick and Ziggy? Kinky."
Of course the trashy Brit had to make a lewd comment.
A phone conversation wasn’t truly doing this justice. Joe had described the incident, the cut next to his eye, the stitches, but seeing it would be a different story. Photos were definitely in order.
“The numbness from the local anesthetic will last a few hours before it finally goes away. Swelling might take days to go down, depending on how bad it was. The bruises are probably going to take a week or two to fade.” He spoke in generalizations, from what he’d seen at the hospital. (And partly from his own experiences.) He wasn’t a doctor, and definitely not the poor doctor that had to work on Joe. “You have to leave the stitches alone, though. You’ll get them taken out in about a week. Wherever you guys happen to be. Gloria can probably do that.”
He wasn’t even going to attempt to argue with whether anything kinky was going on in that hotel suite. After all, they were definitely in bed together. And Joe was trashed enough to take that joke and run up and down the halls with it. But they were fully clothed, just chatting and eating whatever Ziggy had ordered for room service.
Now, though, Minoru was already back in the Nexus, settling in for some actual sleep before his shift.
"Ok, honey. Thanks for the advice! How about I take a few shots and show you?"
Joe pulling out his PINpoint nd pointing it towards his face while aiming the lens at his eye. He was taking the shots blind but he hoped the pictures would be good enough to send to Minoru. Ziggy's cuddle buddy had to see the damage of course.
"Sending them to you now, sweetie."
There. Now Minoru could see the damage and Joe needed to sober up so he could rest. That was the man thing.
Minoru took a good look at the pics. Sure, a couple were out of focus, but they did the trick. That looked nasty, but it would probably heal in the timeframes he guessed - as long as Joe didn’t pick at it.
Could you put a musician in a cone the way you would a dog?
On that tour, if Joe wasn’t careful, somebody just might!
“Geez… what the heck did you fall ON?!” Minoru exclaimed over the phone. “You’re lucky you missed your eye, and just got cut on the side of it!”
"I don't fucking know, mate. Just happened and I fell over and maybe it was a rock? No idea, sweetcakes."
Joe had no recollection of even falling over so there is that too. He was naked so he could have injured himself even more without any clothing to protect him from his fall. His eye seemed to have bore the worst of it though as he stung like a bitch and itched underneath the stitches.
"The stitches itch a bit. Yeah, I was fucking lucky I didn't end up as One-Eyed Joe."
“Just make sure to leave them alone. Even if they itch, leave them alone.”
Minoru had to say it again. The last thing Joe needed was to open them up again, or worse, get the wound infected. Especially with them being so close to his eye.
Joe winked with his good eye and then resisted the urge to itch at his bad eye because that would be bad. Even drunk he'd have to force himself not to undo all the good work the hospital had done on his injured eye. Getting an infection would be bad and Aarne wouldn't be pleased.
"Thanks for the advice, honey. See you around, mate."
The bassist was now going to find Aarne because that seemed the best course of action.
